Charlotte M. Covington is an Associate Lecturer with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc., a national provider of NP Certification Preparation and ongoing continuing education for healthcare providers.
Ms. Covington is a Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, and currently practices at the YWCA Domestic Violence Health Center in Nashville, TN, delivering primary care to women and children. Ms. Covington is also an Associate Professor for the FNP Program at Vanderbilt School of Nursing, Nashville, TN where she established the Fast Track at Vanderbilt University Medical Center Emergency Department, staffed entirely with nurse practitioners.
Ms. Covington is the recipient of the Best Practice Award 2003, YWCA Domestic Violence Health Center from TennCare Access Network of National Health Care for the Homeless Council, and the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2004. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Iota Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau.
Ms. Covington is a frequent speaker at regional and national NP conferences on her experiences with domestic violence survivors and their families.
Her publications include several articles, web based material and a book chapter. She has developed an audio program entitled Screening and Intervention for Domestic Violence, which is available through Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc.
