        Kismet Rasmusson, MS, FNP-BC, is an associate lecturer with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc. (FHEA), an international provider of nurse practitioner certification preparation and ongoing continuing education for healthcare providers. Ms. Rasmusson lectures on topics related to cardiovascular disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, hypertension, and women and heart disease.

        Ms. Rasmusson practices as a nurse practitioner with the Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment Program at Intermountain Medical Center, Salt Lake City, UT.  She is a team member for Heart Failure Program development throughout Intermountain Healthcare’s 20-hospital system, with goals to improve heart failure outcomes. She is an adjunct faculty member and nurse practitioner student preceptor at the University of Utah, College of Nursing, in Salt Lake City.

        Ms. Rasmusson is the past recipient of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners State Excellence Award for Utah, a recipient of a Nursing Research Award by the Heart Failure Society of America, and is one of 130 Fellows of the American Heart Association. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Heart Failure Society of America and the American Heart Association. She also serves as the secretary to the board of directors of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN). Ms. Rasmusson is the past-president of the Utah Nurse Practitioners and the past-chair of the AAHFN Publications Committee.  She is on the editorial advisory board for Nursing Critical Care Journal and is a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Cardiac Failure, Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, and Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

        Ms. Rasmusson has published and presented many heart failure abstracts and articles. Her international presentations include sessions at the European Society of Cardiology to Nice, France, and International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant meeting in Paris. Her presentation topics include Cardiovascular Disease, Women and Heart Disease, Heart Failure, Hypertension, and Cardiomyopathy.
