Susan Feeney, MS, FNP-BC, NP-C, is a senior lecturer with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc. (FHEA), an international provider of nurse practitioner certification preparation and continuing education for healthcare providers. She presents the FHEA Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam Review and Advanced Practice Update for adult and family nurse practitioners. More than 55,000 nurse practitioners have used the Fitzgerald review course to successfully prepare for certification.

Ms. Feeney is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She practices at Wright and Associates Family Healthcare, Amherst, NH. She is an associate instructor at Rivier College Division of Nursing’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program, Nashua, NH, and is the lead clinical faculty for the program. Susan is actively involved in the Rivier College community as co-chair of several committees, including the nursing center and learning resources, and is a member of the faculty senate. She is a founding member and chair of Rivier’s Wellness Connection, which provides health promotion and disease prevention services to the Rivier and greater Nashua communities. This program provides health screening services and health promotion education in addition to providing students and faculty with opportunities for clinical practice. Ms. Feeney also precepts family nurse practitioner students in the clinical setting.

Susan is a member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She is the recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau award of Excellence in Outstanding Graduate Student Achievement and the Campus Compact for New Hampshire President’s Good Steward Award.

Ms. Feeney was featured in the article “Using Physical Assessment when Assessing Nutritional Status” in the peer-reviewed journal, ICAN: Infant, Child, and Adolescent Nutrition. She is the co-author of “Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis: A Primary Care Consensus Guideline,” featured in The American Journal of Managed Care.

Susan presents workshops on the topics of “Common Dermatologic Procedures” and “Common Office Procedures.”She presents workshops in collaboration with other FHEA associates on the topics of “Suturing Basics for Primary and Urgent Care Providers” and “Suturing: Beyond the Basics.” She also lectures on a wide variety of clinical practice topics including migraine headache, sleep disorders, antimicrobial management of respiratory infections, common gastrointestinal complaints, mental health issues in primary care, and pharmacology.
