Michelle A. Beauchesne, DNSc, CPCP, FNAP, FAANP, is an associate lecturer with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc. (FHEA), an international provider of nurse practitioner certification preparation and continuing education for healthcare providers. She is the principal presenter of the FHEA Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam Review and Advanced Practice Update. More than 55,000 nurse practitioners have used the Fitzgerald review course to successfully prepare for certification.
Dr. Beauchesne is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and currently practices in the Developmental Disabilities Clinic at McLean Hospital, Belmont, MA. She is an expert in the care of children and families with neurodevelopmental disabilities and is a distinguished practitioner in the National Academy of Practice and a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Beauchesne is an associate professor and coordinator of the pediatric nurse practitioner programs at Northeastern University, Boston, MA. She received a Doctor of Nursing Science degree from Boston University and completed a post-doctoral LEND fellowship in neurodevelopmental sciences.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Beauchesne is a respected leader in advanced practice nursing education, having served as a past President of the Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Faculties and two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty. Dr. Beauchesne is currently the president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. In recognition of her international leadership, she has received an honorary doctorate from Buckinghamshire New University in England. Dr. Beauchesne is currently consulting with Trinity College Dublin on advanced practice nursing.
