Shawn M. Stewart, PhD, ABS, HSP

        Shawn M. Stewart is an Associate Lecturer with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc, an international provider of NP Certification Exam Review and Advanced Practice Update and continuing education for healthcare providers.

        Dr. Stewart holds a PhD from Tennessee State University in Counseling Psychology, with a specialty in school based applications, and he completed his post doctoral training at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee and runs a multi-city private practice – Haven Counseling and Consulting Services. Dr. Stewart is also a featured weekly newspaper columnist as well as the host of a weekly radio show from Vanderbilt University – On the Couch with Dr. Steve and Dr. Shawn. He is a national presenter for Educational Research Services in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

        Dr. Stewart is a member of numerous professional organizations including, the American Psychological Association, the Indiana Psychological Association and the Psi Chi National Honor Society. He is on the Boards of Directors for many organizations including the Development Learning Center, a school for children in state custody, and is the Chair of the Outreach Committee for Tennessee Equality Project (TEP).

        Dr. Stewart’s publications and research include Tennessee State University Department of Psychology, Graduate Curricula - complete revision of all Graduate Programs; Institute of Special Education (ISE) Make a Difference, Behavioral Intervention Program (BIP) and Raising an Asperger’s Child, among others. He has won numerous awards and was heralded by Parent’s Magazine in 2003 as a ”…psychologist for the next generation….”
