Pathoanatomy and differential diagnosis including:
Cervical spine: Acute sprain, fracture, disc syndrome, spondylosis, toticolis.
Thoracic spine: Kyphosis, scoliosis, thoracocolumbar fracture.
Lumbar spine: Low back sprain, degenerative disc disease, osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome and seronegative spondyloarthropathies
A comprehensive musculoskeletal examination includes bony and soft tissue palpation, range of motion, and neurologic testing which aids in the proper diagnosis and treatment. Specialty testing is demonstrated to uncover specific pathology. Diagnostic testing is discussed with review of radiographs of the spine.
