Fitzgerald Faculty

Dr. Miller is certified as an adult-gerontology acute care, adult-gerontology primary care, family, and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She practices in rural health with NextGen Family Care Clinic and iCarePsychiatry in Las Vegas, NV. Dr. Miller is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and a clinical professor at the Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions, Philadelphia, PA. Additionally, Dr. Miller is the APRN consultant/investigator to the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

Dr. Miller has presented a wide variety of pharmacology and clinical topics at local and national conferences, including the National Conference of Nurse Practitioners, AANP, and the University of Colorado Annual Nurse Practitioner Symposium. In addition, Dr. Miller conducts workshops in collaboration with other Fitzgerald faculty on suturing for primary and urgent care. Dr. Miller is a member of numerous professional organizations, including AANP, the American Nurses Association, the Academy of Correctional Health Professionals, and the Nevada Nurses Association. She has been published in several nurse practitioner journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Biological Research for Nursing, Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, Journal of Primary Health Care, Journal of Correctional Health Care, and Advance for Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Miller has also served as a content reviewer for many of these publications.

Ms. Wright is certified as both a family and adult nurse practitioner and is the owner of two nurse practitioner operated clinics within New Hampshire called Wright and Associates Family Healthcare at Amherst and at Concord. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, and is the recipient of both the Excellence in Research and Excellence in Clinical Practice awards, from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. She was chosen by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners to receive the New Hampshire Excellence in Practice award and by her peers as the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner of the Year. She is the nurse practitioner representative to the State of NH Immunization Advisory Board. Ms. Wright is the founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner Association and Sigma Theta Tau.

Ms. Wright is adjunct graduate faculty at the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing at the University of Wyoming and Simmons College Graduate Nursing Program where she teaches in the doctor of nursing practice program. She has served as a defense expert witness for medical malpractice cases involving nurse practitioners.

Wendy Wright’s publications include articles and monographs on the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and migraine. She is also an editor for Practice Management, a new e-journal created for NPs interested in independent practice and practice management. She has also developed and appeared in a number of Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, produced video programs including Expert Exam: Physical Examination of the Adult, Expert Exam: The Primary Care Neurologic Exam, and Expert Exam: Conducting a Pre-sports Physical Examination, which are available at www.fhea.com.

As a certified adult, family and acute care nurse practitioner, Ms. McDevitt practices at Grace Cottage Family Practice at Grace Cottage Hospital, Townshend, VT. She is a member of the hospital’s Ethics Committee and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as well as a member of The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. She is the assistant clinical instructor at the University of Vermont Medical School and Graduate School of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner Program.

Ms. McDevitt has presented workshops in collaboration with other Fitzgerald associates on the topics of Common Dermatologic Procedures; Common Office Procedures; Expert Exam of the Knee; Expert Exam of the Shoulder; Expert Exam of the Ear, Nose and Throat; Joint Injection; Ophthalmology; and Suturing and Wound Management, offered at Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc. Clinical Skills Workshop Seminars held several times per year around the country. She has presented at numerous national nurse practitioner conferences, including the National Conference of Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Care Clinicians (NCNP/ACC) annually since 2003.

Ms. Tombasco is a family nurse practitioner and certified registered nurse anesthetist where she currently practices at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH.

She has lectured at numerous national nurse practitioner conferences, including the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Practice Clinicians. She has presented workshops in collaboration with other Fitzgerald associates on the topics of Common Dermatologic Procedures; Common Office Procedures; Expert Exam of the Knee; Expert Exam of the Shoulder; Expert Exam of the Ear, Nose and Throat; Splinting: Upper and Lower Extremities; and Suturing and Wound Management.

Ms. Yates is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She also is certified as an asthma educator by the National Asthma Educator Certification Board. She practices as a family nurse practitioner full-time at Family Allergy and Asthma in Louisville, KY and for years has continued her interest in primary care by practicing internal medicine and family medicine in addition to her specialty in allergy, asthma and immunology.

She has been published in The Nurse Practitioner Journal, The Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is on the Editorial Advisory Board of The Nurse Practitioner Journal. Ms Yates received the prestigious 2013 State Award for Excellence for Kentucky by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has presented numerous lectures on a wide variety of clinical topics at local, regional and national NP conferences, including the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives as well as the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Practice Clinicians.

Ms. Yates is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She is also a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners for which she has served in leadership roles over the years including chair and co-chairperson of the Annual Regional Kentucky NP Conference. She has mentored nurse practitioner students for years, and received the outstanding preceptor award from Spalding University, Louisville, KY, in recognition of her service.

Czerkasji holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tennessee) and a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Southern Adventist University (Collegedale, Tennessee). He is the recipient of the Excellence in Writing award from Vanderbilt University for his research paper The Effects of Moderate to Severe Psoriasis on Human Sexuality. Czerkasij is a certified family nurse practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). He is also a registered histotechnologist. He currently practices as a nurse practitioner at Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Dermatology, PC, Cleveland, Tennessee, and Adult and Pediatric Dermatology, Dalton, Georgia, where he applies his skills diagnosing and prescribing for many patients on a full-time basis. He also serves as a nurse practitioner during Moh’s micrographic skin cancer surgeries.

Czerkasij is a member of numerous organizations including the National Society of Histotechnology, the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner’s Association, the Southeast Association of Histotechnologists and Medical Lab Personnel, the Medical Reserve Corps of Southeast Tennessee, the Tennessee Nursing Association, the Georgia Nursing Association, and Sigma Theta Tau (the International Honor Society of Nursing). He has been published in and served as an editorial board member for the Nurse Practitioner Journal and the Journal of Nurse Practitioners. He has additional publications in Men in Nursing, Clinician Reviews and various newspapers throughout Tennessee and Georgia.

In addition to teaching at Southern Adventist University, Dalton State College and Vanderbilt University, Czerkasij has also presented at local regional and national medical centers on the topics Common Malignancies in Dermatology and the Role of Moh’s Surgery, Malignant Tumors of Dermatology and Treatment in the Adult Primary Care Setting and Dermatology in the Adult Primary Care Setting. Mr. Askey is a certified Adult NP who currently practices in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA. He applies his skills to the evaluation, diagnosis and management of various gastroenterologic diseases including cirrhosis, abnormal liver enzymes, infectious hepatitis, and other liver diseases, as well as Inflammatory Bowel Disease, GERD, Dysphagia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Pancreatic Diseases. Mr. Askey is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and has presented a variety of gastroenterologic and hepatic topics at national, state and local conferences including the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners. In the recent past, Mr. Askey served on the Critical Care and Trauma Course Faculty of Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre PA, the Joint Education and Training Faculty, Elmira, NY and as Guest Faculty at Elmira College, Elmira, NY.

In addition to serving as a Principle Investigator and a Sub Investigator for many research projects, on various clinical gastroenterologic and hepatic topics, Mr. Askey has published many articles in The Clinical Advisor, a journal for nurse practitioners and physician assistants for which he is a contributing editor. He also edited a chapter titled “Gastrointestinal Disorders” in the 9th edition of Lippincotts Manual of Nursing Practice. Mr. Askey has recorded the audio programs Irritable Bowel Syndrome: A primer for the primary care provider, Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome: A primer for the primary care provider and Differential Diagnosis of Abdominal Pain 2E. She is a nurse educator with a strong practice background in integrated care combining primary care and psychiatry in both rural settings and with people with serious mental illness and substance use disorders in community-based locations with individuals experiencing chronic homelessness or housing transitions. Dr. Judge-Ellis enjoys working with others and identifying and bridging gaps that exist in the current system of fragmented care for people with serious mental illness, substance use disorder, medical illness, and insecure housing. She is a strong voice for health care reform in this population to meet the quadruple aim: lower cost, excellent outcomes, high patient satisfaction, and fulfillment in the work-life of health care providers. Dr. Judge-Ellis has been on the faculty at the College of Nursing since 1999. From 1999-2011 she served as the Family Nurse Practitioner program coordinator. She began her nursing career as an Army nurse and practiced for over 13 years as an integrated primary care/psychiatry NP. Her current practices are through the College of Nursing Faculty Practice in partnership with local community non-profits on site at Cross Park Place and the 501 project, initiatives of Shelter House, and with Chatham Oaks, a residential care facility for people with serious mental illness in transition after exacerbation of their illness.

In 2005, Dr. Judge-Ellis was awarded the Friends of Iowa Civil Rights, Inc. Individual Award and the Catalyst Award from the University of Iowa Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity in recognition for her leadership efforts towards developing cultural competence and the elimination of health disparity. In 2013, Dr. Judge-Ellis was inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She was awarded the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Excellence in Leadership-Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in 2018, the American Association of Nurse Practitioner State Award for Excellence in 2019 and the Benter Award for Organizational Leadership from the Iowa Chapter American Psychiatric Nurses Association in 2021.

Dr. Judge-Ellis received a master’s degree in nursing from Pacific Lutheran University (Family Nurse Practitioner) in 1996 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (with a post-grad Psych-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner emphasis) from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in May 2008. In 2022 she finished a two-year fellowship as a VA Quality Scholar with a focus on homeless veterans.

Dr. Judge-Ellis has served as President-elect, President and Past President for the Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society (INPS). She was a leader in the formation of a state NP policy and legislative committee that coordinates legislative efforts and employs a lobbyist on behalf of Iowa NPs. Dr. Judge-Ellis served as a board member for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and has attended national leadership conferences through both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American College of Nurse Practitioners and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties. Dr. Judge-Ellis is an associate lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc. She is also co-host of Friends of Flo, a podcast that serves as a “touchstone for nurses across the practice continuum to share stories, exchange ideas, learn, and support one another.”

Tess lives in Iowa City with her husband, son and two cats. She enjoys spending time with family and friends doing whatever happens to be on the agenda. She is a Lay Carmelite and a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Lay Carmelite Community in Iowa City.

Dr. Angelow is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He maintains an active clinical practice in the Division of Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at Cooper University Health Care, a Level One Trauma Center, in Camden, NJ. Dr. Angelow is an Associate Clinical Professor and Chair of Advanced Practice Nursing (Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs) at Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Angelow is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Emergency Nurses Association. Recognizing his outstanding and long-lasting contributions to the profession, he earned Fellowship in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Academy of Emergency Nursing.

Dr. Angelow is a nationally and internationally recognized content expert and speaker. He presents numerous acute care, critical care, emergency, educational and professional topics at local, regional, national, and international conference venues. He serves as a content expert and consultant for multiple clinically based projects and has published books on adult-gerontology acute care certification preparation and acute care clinical procedures. He also serves as a content reviewer for numerous professional journals, including the Journal of Emergency Nursing, the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Journal for Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Pomarico is the former Director and Lead faculty of the FNP track in the Department of Nursing at Southern Connecticut State University. She is courtesy faculty and a guest lecturer for numerous nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and medical schools in Connecticut. Dr. Pomarico is the recipient of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Nurse Practitioner Excellence award and was inducted as a Fellow in AANP. She is a recipient of the Nightingale Excellence in nursing award. Dr. Pomarico is the co-author of two nursing pathophysiology textbooks and a contributing author in “Focus on Adult Health Nursing”. She served on the advisory board for The Jim Collins Foundation, a non-profit organization community-based initiative promoting the self-determination and empowerment of all transgender people. Dr. Pomarico has served as the Co-Chair of Health Policy and is a Past President of the Connecticut Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Society (CTAPRNS). Dr. Pomarico presents locally and nationally. He currently provides primary care services for our National Heroes at the Veterans Health Administration and serves as a faculty member at Fitzgerald Health Education Associates which is the premiere provider of NP board review and NP continuing education in the country. Dr. Gleason serves on multiple local, state and national councils and boards including the Benefis Health System Stroke Council, the Montana State Stroke Workgroup, the National VA Stroke Clinical Practice Guidelines Workgroup, the National VA APRN Council and the Corporate Advisory Board for Carelinx by Sharecare an innovative home care services company launched by WebMD founder Jeff Arnold, Oprah, Remark Media, Sony Pictures Television and Discovery Communications. Gleason has been recognized from the floor of the United States Senate for his work with stroke and Veterans. Out of all the roles he has had in his lifetime the most profound is being a dad to his three amazing sons.

Previously, he was Associate Medical Director for the largest managed care behavioral health network in the Desert Southwest. He served on the Nevada Board of Nursing’s Advanced Practice and Educational Advisory Committees and spearheaded the Donate Life campaign at the state level.

His professional interests include neurobiology, pharmacology and epigenetics. He is an internationally-recognized speaker on these (and related) topics at conferences and professional meetings. He works with a variety of organizations to develop, review and present live and enduring continuing education activities. Engagements include the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Myriad Neuroscience, MedIQ, Nurse Practitioner Continuing Education Associates (NPACE), and Vindico Medical Education. He serves on the psychiatric medication working group at the Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science & Innovation, a FDA-sponsored project at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Hamilton earned his doctorate in nursing from Rush University in Chicago. At the University of Wyoming he earned a baccalaureate degree in Natural Science and Mathematics as well as a master’s degree in Nursing. He also has an undergraduate degree in Biology. He is nationally certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse; family nurse practitioner; family psychiatric nurse practitioner, telemental healthcare provider, and nurse educator. He was recognized as a doctoral scholar by the National League for Nursing, and he is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He was recognized for establishing a unique clinic structure that improves access to cost-effective, convenient, quality mental healthcare. His academic connections fostered synergies and renewed attention to nursing education that focuses on care for the vulnerable mentally ill population in Nevada and across the nation. Dr. Hamilton is also a master clinical psychopharmacologist (through the Neuroscience Education Institute), and he was the 2015 Distinguished Alumnus at his alma mater, the University of Wyoming. He is the Nevada state representative for AANP.

A classically trained pianist, Dr. Hamilton enjoys live music, international travel and automobiles. He is an active supporter of local animal rescue and rehoming efforts, as well as charities that provide critical transportation for patients in need of distant life-saving specialty healthcare. Dr. Hamilton grew up in Casper, Wyoming, with his sights set on medical school. He originally pursued a nursing degree thinking the experience would make him a better physician. Along the way, he discovered an affinity and passion for the humanistic, health-promoting philosophy of nursing. He has since devoted his career to clinical practice, furthering the cause of the profession and educating future leaders in the healthcare field.

Dr. Anderson has written over 100 questions for the National Council of State Boards (NCLEX), has authored several NCLEX Review books,Presenting his live NCLEX-RN exam prep for more than two decades in eastern massachusettes universities, he created the propriatary W-ASSESSMENT system to answer high-level prioritization decision making questions. His “philosophy” has assisted thousands of Graduate Nurses to take control of the NCLEX-RN exam rather than letting it control them. He is currently a Full Professor of Nursing at Curry College, Milton, Massachusetts and the current President of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing Foundation.

Dr. Osborne is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Track Director of the Women’s Health/Gender Related Nurse Practitioner MSN Program at the College of Nursing and Health Professions, Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She is a board certified women’s health NP. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Drexel University with scholarly work in contraception counseling and shared decision making. She has also completed postgraduate course work in colposcopy and ultrasound. Dr. Osborne is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Osborne began her nursing career as a high-risk obstetrical nurse before working as a community health nurse in outpatient family planning and reproductive healthcare.

While caring for women making reproductive health care decisions, she developed a strong passion for providing and advocating for patients’ access to full-scope reproductive health care. As a certified registered NP, she has practiced in private and publically funded outpatient women’s health/reproductive health centers. She has served in both clinical and leadership roles to increase NP-centered and -led models of care. Currently she maintains a clinical practice as part of the Drexel Faculty Nurse Practitioner Practice at Parkway Health & Wellness. Dr. Osborne is a member of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals and Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.

Dr. Fuller is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, where she serves as Director of the AGACNP program and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. As a certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care and Family Nurse Practitioner, she practices at Maine Medical Center in Portland and Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She is also an Advanced Practice Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON-AP), Certified Foot Care RN (CFCN), and Registered Nurse First Assist (RFNA). Dr. Fuller received her PhD at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and her DNP at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. She is on the Board of Directors of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), President of the Maine State Board of Nursing, and Past President of the Maine Nurse Practitioner Association. Dr. Fuller is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters and presents regularly at local, state, and national conferences. She is actively involved in legislative and healthcare policy in Maine and is a 2017 recipient of the Elaine Elllibee Award from the NCSBN. In addition to the organizations listed previously, Dr. Fuller is also a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, and the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society. Dr. Fuller is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Nycole started her APRN practice as a Hospitalist NP and began working as an APRN in the Emergency Department, where she previously practiced as a nurse. She continues to practice in both positions, as well as working in a Primary Care clinic. Dr. Oliver started teaching APRN students at the University of South Alabama in 2016. She has been a speaker and keynote speaker at several local, state, regional, national, and international Nursing and NP conferences. She is on several state and national committees and has authored in nursing textbooks and journals. She has also won several awards as an NP, showcasing her outstanding contributions to NP and emergency nursing practice.
