We’ve Done the Work for You!
When you use a Fitzgerald course, the alignment work to The Essentials: Core Competencies For Professional Nursing Education released in April 2021 by the AACN is already complete.
In April 2021, The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) released The Essentials: Core Competencies For Professional Nursing Education. The Essentials provide the educational framework Universities across the country use for accreditation so they can continue to attract top nursing talent and improve student outcomes — graduating the next generation of NP professionals.
Aligning curriculum to The Essentials is a necessary but time-consuming process*, and the process from one university to another can vary.
Fitzgerald Health faculty member Dr. Sally K. Miller reviewed more than 110 Fitzgerald courses available with Amplify and detailed the competencies and sub-competencies each course covers and aligned them to the April 2021 Essentials standards.
*CCNE has informed Fitzgerald Health Associates that it has made no determination yet on whether or not to require the 2021 Essentials in its accreditation process, and that any such decision will be made as part of its regularly scheduled process for review of its accreditation standards.
