Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the most common infectious diseases and is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Resistance to many commonly used antibiotics among organisms that cause CAP is a growing concern.

This case-based course reviews factors that influence the development of resistant pathogens, including patient characteristics that increase risk of infection with a resistant pathogen, and discusses the latest treatment recommendations.
