Joshua Hamilton, DNP, RN-BC, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, CNE, FAANP, is certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He is a nurse educator with more than 20 years of experience. Dr. Hamilton is chief clinical officer at The Hamilton Group in Las Vegas, a unique private concierge telehealth practice, where he practices as both a PMHNP and an FNP. He is a certified master clinical psychopharmacologist through the Neuroscience Education Institute.
Dr. Hamilton earned his doctorate in nursing from Rush University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Wyoming. He is Professor and Director of the MSN program at Rasmussen College in Bloomington, MN; Professor, Chief Nurse Administrator, and Director of the DNP program at Bay Path University, Longmeadow MA; and Clinical Professor and Concentration Coordinator, PMHNP, at Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, KY. He speaks nationally on advances in behavioral health and psychiatry.
Dr. Hamilton’s clinical practice and research center around neurobiology, epigenetics and pharmacogenomics. He also has extensive experience in nursing educational administration, program development, and evaluation.
Dr. Hamilton served on the Nevada Board of Nursing’s Advanced Practice and Educational Advisory Committees. He is the Nevada state representative for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). He was recognized as a doctoral scholar by the National League for Nursing, and he is a Fellow of the AANP. Dr. Hamilton is a member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, AANP, the National League for Nursing, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, and the Neuroscience Education Institute.
