What types of questions are in the QBank?
The QBank follows the AANP and ANCC blueprint. For ease of use, our QBank questions are categorized by body system, domains, and knowledge areas. The QBank includes:
- One-time pre-assessment: Quick “gut-check” to test your knowledge, before engaging in any practice tests and simulated exam experiences. You can take the pre-assessment one time and can review your results as much as you’d like.
- Practice exams: 11 practice exams, categorized by 11 body systems. You can take the practice exams more than once. Immediately after answering each question, the exam reveals if you answered correctly/ incorrectly and provides a rationale you can review that before moving onto the next question. You can review your results as much as you’d like.
- Simulated exam: A comprehensive exam that mimics a real testing scenario. The exam is timed (3 hours). Once you complete the entire simulated exam, your results will reveal which item(s) you answered correctly/ incorrectly and their rationales.
Are the questions randomized?
Yes, questions and rationales are randomized. The QBank will generate new, unanswered questions first.
How do I make the most of my Qbank?
The Fitzgerald Qbank is a companion tool to assist Nurse Practitioner (NP) students and/or graduates who are preparing to take their Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification exam. The QBank compliments the FHEA FNP Review course/ program. We recommend:
- Before the FNP Review course: Before beginning the review course, we encourage you to complete the one-time Pre-assessment. Utilize those results of the pre-assessment (i.e. reviewing your performance on the assessment) as a helpful guide to which content areas are most important for you to focus on.
- During the FNP review course: As you move along in the FNP Review course, we encourage you to also take practice exams that align with the review topic/category presented during your review course. For example, if review day #1 covers cardiovascular, endocrine, and immune systems, complete the cardiovascular, endocrine, and immune practice exams to reinforce and bolster your foundational knowledge + critical thinking skills.
- After the FNP review course: We encourage you to complete the simulated practice exam(s) when the review course is completed. This allows you to test you comprehensive knowledge and self-evaluate your readiness to test.
