Paralleling the obesity epidemic, gastric bypass and sleeve surgeries are being performed with increasing frequency in the United States.
Often, chronic management of patients after weight-reduction surgery falls to the primary care provider.
Routine management, as well as potential complications of weight-reduction surgery in this population, will be discussed.
In addition, in light of the fact that weight-reduction surgery is ineffective if proper diet and exercise patterns are not developed, these topics will also be discussed.
